IPMVP®: la tua garanzia di misurazione e verifica dei progetti aziendali di efficientamento energetico

Investire budget e risorse in un progetto è una decisione che si lega ad un aspetto fondamentale: il ROI. Gli imprenditori, anche nell’ambito della riqualificazione energetica delle proprie aziende, si chiedono:”Quale sarà il mio ritorno su questo investimento?“. L’unico modo per averne certezza è utilizzare strumenti di previsione e monitoraggio che rispettino il protocollo IPMVP®.

Perché è stato necessario arrivare al protocollo IPMVP®

Ricordiamo innanzitutto di cosa stiamo parlando. IPMVP® è un acronimo che, scritto per esteso, si spiega da solo: International Performance Measurement and Verification Protocol. Siamo quindi di fronte ad una convenzione che ha mirato ad uniformare a livello internazionale i modi in cui si misurano e si verificano le performance dei progetti energetici, idrici e di utilizzo di fonti rinnovabili.

Ma perché siamo dovuti arrivare a questo punto?

Come si legge nel sito stesso della EVO®, organismo di cui parleremo a breve, i risparmi energetici non sono direttamente misurabili in quanto rappresentano l’assenza di consumo di una fonte energetica. L’unico modo per determinare i risparmi energetici reali è quello di comparare i consumi aziendali prima e dopo l’introduzione di alcune misure o, meglio ancora, dell’implementazione di un progetto di efficientamento.

Il compito del protocollo internazionale è quello di stabilire esattamente cosa e come misurare, in modo da garantire uniformità e chiarezza.

Chi ha redatto il protocollo IPMVP®

La sopra citata EVO® è un’organizzazione non-profit i cui servizi e prodotti aiutano le persone a gestire ed investire in progetti di efficienza energetica. In particolare, l’organizzazione si pone lo scopo di assicurare che i risparmi e l’impatto di tali progetti siano misurabili in maniera accurata e verificabile.

Dal 2004, EVO® si occupa di aggiornare e rendere disponibile il protocollo IPMVP®. Tale protocollo è l’evoluzione di quello di misura e verifica che era stato sviluppato negli Anni ’90 negli Stati Uniti (The North American Measurement and Verification Protocol -NEMVP) e che è poi stato adattato, nel 1997, per essere utilizzato a livello internazionale.

In EVO®, la commissione interna dedicata all’IPMVP® è composta da volontari (tutti professionisti qualificati) provenienti da tutto il mondo che si impegnano per sviluppare e aggiornare il protocollo, promuovendo la diffusione degli strumenti e delle best-practice di efficienza energetica.

Su cosa lavora la commissione di cui abbiamo parlato?

  • definizione di termini e metodologie comuni ed applicabili a livello internazionale per valutare le performance dei progetti energetici
  • metodi, con diversi livelli di costi e accuratezza, per determinare i risparmi sia dell’intero progetto sia di singole voci (ECM – Energy Conservation Measures)
  • indicazione dei contenuti che deve presentare un piano di Misura & Verifica (Measurement and Verification Plan – M&V Plan)
  • possibilità di adattare il protocollo ad una varietà di facilities, compresi nuovi edifici e processi industriali.

Benefici di utilizzare questo strumento

A questo punto, la risposta è già chiara: il protocollo offre la possibilità di misurare con serietà e imparzialità i risparmi ottenuti in azienda grazie ai progetti di efficienza energetica, idrici e di utilizzo di fonti rinnovabili. In particolare:

  • quando il compenso dei fornitori è basato sui risparmi che sono riusciti a portare all’azienda, come nel caso dei Contratti di Rendimento Energetico (EPC), è particolarmente importante avere la certezza ed imparzialità dei dati
  • per i professionisti come ESCO ed Energy Manager, l’uso di uno strumento di previsione di costi e benefici di un progetto che si basi su tale protocollo facilita la contrattazione con il cliente

Role and responsibilities

To support and accelerate our growth plan the company plans to reinforce the commercial team to speed up commercial activities in a series of priority markets such as Benelux, Italy, France and Spain.

Energis is looking for a Lead Generation Specialist for targeted geographical markets. This person will be responsible for prospecting, qualifying and generating new sales leads in various countries and market segments. Such activities require desk research, exchanging mails and interviewing people by telephone. Once the sales process has started, the person will contribute in preparing commercial proposals and following up on commercial activities.

The Lead Generation Specialist will be in charge of the following activities:

  • For identified countries and markets, perform desk analysis and research to determine prospect groups for Energis.Cloud, and build a clear and complete DB of potential leads;
  • Conduct deep research for the identified targets to identify potential prospects;
  • Generate interest in the selected leads via telephone, email, social networks and digital communications, by sharing the benefits Energis.Cloud could generate and the way it could address customers’ needs and expectations;
  • Build and cultivate relationships by initiating conversations and conducting follow-up communications to move opportunities through the sales funnel;
  • Work with the Business Development Director to develop and grow the sales pipeline to consistently meet quarterly revenue goals;
  • Manage data for new and prospective clients within our CRM application, ensuring all communications are logged, information is accurate, and documents are attached;
  • Prepare and analyse sales pipeline reports and dashboards;

ACCOUNT MANAGER

Role and responsibilities

To support and accelerate our growth, Energis seeks to reinforce the commercial team to build strong business relationships with existing and future customers.

We are currently looking for an Account Manager to develop long-term relationships with a portfolio of customers, connecting with key business executives and stakeholders. This person will be the liaison between our customers and internal cross-functional teams to ensure the timely and successfully delivery of our solutions according to customer needs. The Account Manager in collaboration with our Product Management team and the clients’ internal contacts make sure that our Product(s) become an integral part of our customers’ offering to deliver maximum benefits in the short, medium and long-term.

ENERGIS SOFTWARE ARCHITECT

Function

As ultimate goal you will contribute to a better usage of energy resources at a global scale. As Software Architect you will focus on technical and scientific aspects to achieve this goal. You will be responsible of the technical realisation of the software solutions as well as the good execution of customer and Research & Innovation (R&I) projects in which Energis is involved. You will perform following activities :

  • Coordinate the technical realisation of Energis i.e. manage the software development from inception through implementation with focus on the technical design, development process and quality. Actively participate in the development, testing and documentation of the software.
  • Do the liaison between the development team and other stakeholders (sales & marketing, executives and product management). Work closely with the Director Products & Innovations to make the optimal choices.
  • Supervise and participate in preliminary studies and estimations of new customer projects, as well as in the design of extension/tuning of existing systems
  • Bring software architecture expertise in the team, based on past experience in similar software projects. Define the software architecture and best practices delivering highly scalable, available, secure and maintainable solutions. Keep the software architecture documentation always up-to- date. Demonstrate leadership in the software architecture design and implementation towards the development team consisting of designers, developers and testers. Drive continuous evolution of technology architecture aligned with business vision and direction.

 

You will coordinate technically national and international (e.g. EU Horizon 2020) Research and Innovation (R&I) projects. Such an international H2020 project will start second half 2016. The objective of this project is to support energy-aware electric vehicle mobility (routing and charging) by accommodating both interests of Electric Vehicle (EVs) users and grid requirements. This will be validated in real environments in several EU countries (Germany, Spain and Czech Republic).

Energis being the technical coordinator of this international project composed of 11 partners, you will execute following activities :

  • Understand expertise and assets every partner brings in the project from technical point of view.
  • List technical requirements & use cases together with the project partners.
  • Define the technical architecture, describe interactions between components in support of use cases.
  • Choose tools, technologies, programming languages to use.
  • Participate in the regular calls of all work packages and in project management calls.
  • Participate in project management meetings and technical workshops.
  • Plan and coordinate technical activities of all partners. Make sure all pieces developed by partners fit together. Continuous software integration of parts developed by all involved partners.
  • Be up-to-date and aware of all what happens at partners from technical point of view.
  • Make sure technical solution is ready/operational for the experiments.
  • Provide input and coordinate deliverables.

Competences

Required:

  • Master degree in Engineering or Computer Sciences or equivalent by experience
  • Experience with technologies and frameworks such as Java, Spring, MySQL, JSON, XML, JavaScript, KariosDB, Tomcat, MySQL, Apache Cassandra
  • Outstanding analysis and architectural skills. Ability to define solutions, determine pros and cons and recommend solutions at management level to realize technology and business vision
  • Ability to understand business drivers and recommend cost effective technology options in response to business needs
  • Ability to prioritize and meet deliverables in a highly competitive and demanding environment

Plus:

  • Experience addressing business needs in the energy domain (energy efficiency, renewable energy, smart grid, electric vehicles)
